A daily NFT collection inspired by On Kawara where I created and minted a new piece of art every single day for a year. An experiment in creative discipline, onchain permanence, and leaving my mark in spacetime.

CONCEPT

Ever since I was a kid, I was fascinated by history — reading accounts from people of their time, viewing their art, understanding how they saw the world. I wanted to join this human tradition in my own way.

This project felt like the 2022 version of cave painting. All I'm trying to do is scream: I was here. By hammering the Ethereum blockchain daily with artwork, I created an immutable record of a year of my creative life.

I didn't follow a single style — I followed my feelings each day. Some pieces are AI-generated, others are hand-drawn. Some are meditative, others chaotic. Together, they form a diary written in visual language.

THE RULES

01Create and mint an NFT every day for at least one year

02The date must be present in the visual work somewhere

03No rules about tools or visual style — follow the feeling

04Include a description and link with each piece

05If not minted before midnight UTC, tag as "Time: Imperfect"

LESSONS LEARNED

Smart contracts are permanent. You only get to deploy once. My contract is called "j4ck" when I'd prefer "Existence & Immortality" — a permanent reminder to think things through.

Rules enable creativity. Having constraints was the key to sustaining a daily practice. The structure freed me to focus on the work rather than deciding whether to work.

Don't mix collections. I originally put other artwork in the same contract. In hindsight, keeping collections separate makes for a cleaner creative record.
